Travel evaluation and Classic tryouts 2026-2027

For the fall 2026 and/or spring 2027 seasons, FC814 will be holding a four-day mini camp to conduct evaluations for our travel and classic programs.

For the 2026-2027 cycle, players will be sorted by their ages between August 1, 2026 and July 31, 2027 This will determine their "playing age."

For example: players born between August 1, 2017 and July 31, 2018 will turn 9 during the 2026-2027 cycle. Their playing age will be Under 9 or "U9", because they will not yet have turned 9 when the cycle begins, but will turn 9 before it ends.

Our travel soccer program will be for U8, U9 and U10 players in a combined "U10" bracket, and for U11 and U12 players in a combined "U12" bracket. Please see our "Programs" tab on our website for a description of the travel program. The travel teams will play a fall 2026 and a separate spring 2027 season.

In the spring, there will also be opportunities for travel players in a combined "U15" bracket that includes U13, U14, and U15 players, and a combined "U19" bracket that includes U16, U17, U18, and U19 players. Again, please see our "Programs" tab for a full description of the Classic program.

Our classic program involves fall 2026 and spring 2027 play at the U12, U13, and U14 levels. In this case, it's a separate league for each of those age ranges.

We will also have classic opportunities at the U14, U16, and U19 levels in spring 2027 only.

This year, we will be holding a four-day evaluation mini-camp from May 11 through May 14th. For registration purposes, all players will register in their age range, regardless of prior experience and past team affiliations.

These camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age , grade level, and/or gender.

The mini-camps will be held at Urban Air Soccer Complex (boys) and Valley View fields (girls). St. Francis University Women's Soccer head coach Brian Diaz, FC814's Technical Director, will be the camp director, and the camp will be staffed by a variety of local college coaches, who will run the activities! So far, there are commitments from Lock Haven, Pitt-Johnstown, St. Francis, Penn State Altoona, and Juniata to provide staff.

Time: 5:30-7pm & 7-8:30pm
The U9 through U13 boys, and the U9 through U12 girls, will play from 5:30 to 7:00 nightly.
The U14 through U19 boys, and the U13 through U19 girls, will play from 7:00 to 8:30 nightly.
The same time and field per gender will hold true for each night of camp.

Registration:
Pre-registration: As noted above, please register in your player's age group. The system will not permit registration outside of that range.
It is strongly suggested that players register online ahead of time.
Players can check in at each session 5:00pm in person prior to early session & 6:30pm prior to later session

Camp Curriculum:
Coach Diaz will tailor each session to a specific skill focus and drills for each day/session
i.e. Monday: Specific focus - ball handling/dribbling -----> Scrimmage to finish this night; Evaluations would be focused on those skills for the night
i.e. Tuesday: Specific focus - passing --------> Scrimmage to finish the night; Evaluations are focused on those skills
i.e. Wed: ETC ETC
i.e. Thurs: ETC ETC
Goalkeepers: will have a 30 minute breakout for keepers w/ coaching staff

After evaluations have been completed and scores recorded, the FC814 Selection Committee will organize teams based on talent level and age range, and players will be informed of their invitation to particular teams.
